UPDATE TO REGISTRATION LISTING

FALL SOFTBALL INFORMATION FOR 2024.  Registration will open by August 1st, once division registration fees are determined!

We are expecting to field teams in 12u, 14u, and 18u (multiple) Our teams play in the Phillies RBI league.
Home games for 12&14u will be at Parkwood on Sundays starting at 4pm. Both 18u teams will be playing all games at Penn Academy (Holme & Academy) on either Mondays or Wednesdays with first pitch set for 7pm. The cost for fall softball may vary by age group but will likely be $50 or less.

The only field availability for practices is on Saturdays, or on weekdays before 4:30pm.  Softball teams will have the batting cage one night each week to do hitting practices.

CONTINUING THIS YEAR: In an effort to keep costs down, we are moving away from getting the usual uniform jerseys.  Instead, RBI will supply Tshirts for Jr RBI teams (10U/12U) and Nike dri-fit shirts for RBI teams (14U/18U).  This year, all players will have to supply their own solid black softball pants.  Parkwood will still supply the socks, belts, and visors for each team.

For players who want to “play up” in age division, you may register one age group up; however, if cuts need to be made, the players who are “playing up” in age will be the first to be “cut” down into their appropriate age level.

.If you have any questions, please reach out to Lisa at [email protected].  Thank you for considering playing at Parkwood!

2024 Season Travel Softball Information

We expect to field teams in 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U divisions, and will be playing in the Phillies RBI League.  This league began with the 18U age division in Fall 2019 and has expanded each year to now include ages 10U through 18U. Joining the RBI league allows our girls & coaches access to various free programs that the Phillies set up, including coaches' clinics, players' clinics, college "play day" clinics, and Phillies RBI events at Citizens Bank Park. This league uses USA (formerly ASA) softball rules for all age divisions.

Everyone is welcome to register their daughter(s) for one of our teams.  If your daughter wants to play in High School and you do not want the high cost & time commitment of tournament softball, consider registering her here at Parkwood. Our teams focus on fundamentals of the game, base running, situational plays, communication, and teaching the girls to play together as a team without coaches directing their every move.  Your daughter will learn the proper softball rules and will learn how to keep up with the speed of high level softball on this team, without the excessive travel and cost of joining a tournament team.

Clicking on the registration button, once available, will allow you to register your daughter onto an age-appropriate team.  A player's "age" for softball is defined as the child's age on 1/1/2024.  If your daughter turns 13 on or after 1/2/2024, she is still eligible to play 12U softball, as she was 12 on 1/1/2024.  If you are interested in having your daughter "play up" in age, you may register her for the next age group up. A player can be moved up only one age bracket.  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will a child be allowed to play in a lower age bracket.  Any attempt to falsify a child's age will immediately terminate their eligibility to play on any Parkwood softball team, and a birth certificate will be required for the RBI League starting this yearPlease note that Parkwood may move girls up in age group if necessary to form teams.

Weather permitting, the season will begin in the middle of March  The registration fee of $125 covers uniform jersey, umpire fees, and team supplies and will be requested to be paid by credit card when you are registering.  Please do not let this cost deter you from registering; if you need to pay by cash or check, or if you need to pay in installments, we will work with you.  Simply enter your registration up to the point of the payment information and then send an email to Lisa at [email protected] and explain the situation.

Refunds will only be honored up to 15 days after the start of the season.

RBI League Bat Information

FOR AGES 12U, 14U, and 18U ONLY

Legal bats will have one of these 3 stamps.  BE AWARE that composite bats ARE allowed.  This means that balls will be coming off the bats significantly faster than they were coming off of aluminum bats.  For this reason, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND facemasks for pitchers, 1st basemen, and 3rd basemen at the minimum.  NOTE THAT THE COMPOSITE GHOST BATS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE 12U AGE DIVISION.  Below are some examples of composite GHOST bats, but there are other models as well.
